Scott Jones

Lead Pastor

Scott Jones accepted the call as pastor of Summit on April 7, 2024. The Lord led the church to a man who would follow the Lord and lead and love like Jesus. That man accepted the call.

Bro. Scott was MBSF Director/College Pastor at UAM and Pauline Baptist Church in Monticello, Arkansas. During his ministry he has also served as a Church Planter/ Missionary Pastor at Disciplelife Church in Pflugerville, Texas; Pastor/Teacher at Smyrna Baptist Church in Mt. Enterprise, Texas and Pastor/Teacher West Hamilton Baptist Church in San Augustine, Texas.

Bro. Scott’s personal ministry goals are to lead discipleship in the church with personal involvement in small groups, young adults, men and families. His desire is to feed and lead those in his care as they become followers and ambassadors for the Lord Jesus Christ. Bro. Scott has a Masters of Theology and Biblical Languages (Greek and Hebrew) Texas Baptist Institute and Seminary Henderson, Texas.

Bro. Scott is married to Katie, and they have five children, Makayla, Sophie, Jaxxon, Maddie and Darcie. We even hear that they have a frog in the back yard named Mr. Hinkle. May the Lord receive all the honor and glory as his under shepherd leads Summit Church to do great and mighty things.

Worship Pastor

Lewis Hinkle has been Worship Pastor at Summit since her beginning, March 2001. His love for Jesus and music make for a great combination when leading the church to worship. His talents are many and he uses them to glorify the LORD. He leads Summit Singers and Summit Soundz. He organizes four Summit Soundz Concerts each year, the Spring Concert, the Patriotic Concert, the Summit Soundz and Friends Concert and the Christmas Concert.  Summit Soundz is made up of members of Summit, students from school districts in the area as well as band directors and other adults who use their talents to glorify God. Bro. Lewis also plans and orchestrates the Sights and Sounds Christmas Spectacular yearly the first week of December. This includes Summit Singers, Summit Soundz, soloists rendering a variety of songs to honor the KING of Kings and LORD of Lords as we celebrate His birth. He also teaches our Front Runners Sunday school class for our senior adults. Bro. Lewis is beginning his 45th year in ministry. He and his wife Debbie have two children, Their son Carter Hinkle and wife Stephanie and grands Charleston and Hadlee Hinkle; and daughter Cady Grice and husband Aaron. To God be the glory great things He has done!
