FROM THE PASTOR’S DESK
Summit family,
What a beautiful Mother’s Day we celebrated together! The picture table, the tea and biscotti, and especially the mural, gave us all such a rich opportunity to reflect, cherish, and honor the women who’ve shaped our lives. Thank you to everyone who brought in photos, shared stories, and opened your hearts. The fellowship around the memory table was as sweet and satisfying as the biscotti itself!
As we head into our last Midweek of the semester, I’m filled with gratitude and awe. What a year it’s been in our Wednesday evening Ministry! I want to give a huge shoutout to all who volunteered, prepared meals, led lessons, or wrangled students with love and patience. Watching this ministry grow has been like watching a garden bloom—it’s been simply beautiful.
The Wonderkidz Children’s Ministry has also had an incredible year—full of Bible lessons, worship songs, games, and more laughter than I can count. We averaged 15 kids each week, and while that may not seem like a massive number, it meant the world to us. Each child was a divine appointment, and Summit had the honor of planting seeds of grace and love into their hearts. I can’t wait to see what’s next in the fall.
In our Student Ministry, we averaged 20 students weekly, ranging from 6th to 12th grade. Week after week, our student-led worship team lifted songs of praise to Jesus, transforming from a ragtag crew of beginners into a unified, Spirit-led band of worshippers. We studied six different Bible series, and I was blown away by how engaged, respectful, and thoughtful our students were. We witnessed five students come to Christ this year, and most have already taken the bold step of baptism. Praise God!
Looking ahead, we are preparing to take 20–25 students to church camp this summer. Please join us in prayer that souls will be saved and lives will be forever changed. Also, continue to lift up those in our church who are facing sickness and challenges.
Thank you, Summit Church, for being such a loving, faithful, and joy-filled congregation. Your support and prayers are the fuel that makes all of this possible.
Your Pastor,
Bro. Scott
It’s On My Heart . . .
What a beautiful Mother’s Day we experienced Sunday! The fellowship and love shared among us was really nice! The photo table was a hit! It was awesome to see pictures of mothers who are still with us; and those who have already made their journey home! Thank you for sharing your pictures and memories!
The Spring Concert presented by our Summit Soundz Celebration Band is THIS Saturday night (May 17) at 6:00 PM. Please, make this special program a part of your weekend plans! The first half of the program is patriotic while the second half will be hymns and spirituals. Our special guests will be the Watson Chapel High School ROTC Color Guard.
I hope to see you . . and invite and bring others with you!
When Bro. Scott and I met in January to plan our year, he asked me to preach on Sunday mornings for 4 weeks beginning on May 18th. I graciously said that I would be honored to do that for our church . . . and with that plan in place . . . here is the four part series we will use to guide our hearts and minds entitled:
“BIBLICAL ABSOLUTES”
Sunday, May 18 - The Absolute Authority Of The Word Of God
Sunday, May 25 - The Absolute Authenticity Of Jesus Christ
Sunday, June 1 - The Absolute Assurance Of Salvation
Sunday, June 8 - The Absolute Anticipation Of Heaven
SUMMIT SINGERS . . . The vacation months of summer are upon us! I’m asking all of our singers to please participate each Sunday in the choir! We need everybody! New people are wanted and welcome! Meet us each Sunday at 9:15 AM!
We’ll see you at MidWeek this Wednesday as we anticipate the Saturday Concert and our assembly on Sunday!
Blessings abundant to you and yours!
~ Bro. Lewis

We received positive feedback from the
