FROM PASTOR TODD . . .
Thankful for Bro. Dubs message and reminded of this
quote when he was speaking about Psalm 1...
The trouble with good advice is that it usually interferes
with your plans.
Many thanks for providing vacation time for me and mine.
God is good!
1. Face covering required,
2. Social distance of 6' or more,
3. No one on stage except speakers and keyboard/piano,
4. and no classes or nursery.
While these steps may be inconvenient, we encourage all to come
BRO. LEW’S NEWS . . .
The public schools started in-person instruction yesterday
and from the interviews on the news with teachers it was a
Let’s pray that schools can remain open and that Covid
will not spread!
Hopefully we will know in a few weeks how things will go
concerning our schools which will determine how we plan
to move forward as a church.
Summit Soundz is a huge part of our music ministry; and
how I grieve over not rehearsing and playing; and recruiting.
We should have already been “full throttle” in Christmas
music by now; and this goes for our Summit Singers as well.
I covet your prayers about all of this because it is important!
Several have stated that they will be glad when we can “get back
to normal again.” The reality is that in order for that to happen WE
have many things to work through . . . and that is going to take
commitment and dedication. Church ministry is difficult without
something horrific like Covid so WE will have to forge on and make
a way! We have been encouraged to wear masks and social
distance. Our worship center is large enough to “social distance”
better than any work environment or school setting. It’s the safest
public venue you could ever attend.
Consider being a part of “getting back to normal” and attend the
“in- person” public worship of the church.
There’s not a person who enjoys wearing a mask but we wear them
for the good of all. As God’s children, we are never promised
“comfort” but rather called to commitment. It’s not about what we
want but what is best for those around us.
Covid is not a hoax! I’ve had it . . .members of my family have had
it . . . I’ve had friends to die as a result of it. Let’s do everything we
can to stop the spread; and at the same time assemble safely for
public worship! ~ Bro. Lewis Hinkle
COLLEGE FRESHMEN FOCUS
Each week we will spotlight one of our college freshmen in the
Summit Bulletin Board! I’m asking you to pray for them . . . send
cards with a little “hamburger money” . . . send a small package
with gum, mints, candy! Let them know you are praying for
them! Once we have put the spotlight on all of our freshmen,
we will list all of our college students and their addresses.
They need our support! There is a fierce battle for the minds of
our young adults! If you need proof just watch the news and
you’ll see the results of Godless teaching as they riot and
