FROM THE PASTOR’S DESK
Monday Update –
Good afternoon, Summit!
What a wonderful day of worship we had yesterday.
In our morning service, we wrapped up our series on
Walking in the Spirit. It has been such a joy to see how
God’s Word continues to challenge and encourage us to
live daily in step with Him.
In our evening service, we looked at the moment when
Paul and Barnabas were sent out for the first time as missionaries.
What an incredible reminder that God still calls and sends His
people to take the Gospel to the ends of the earth.
Please continue to pray for Verna Long. She is currently in the
ICU at Jefferson. She is stable, but the doctors are still unsure
what’s going on. She was not responding well to conversation
when I saw her, so please lift her up in prayer—asking the Lord
for healing, strength, and clarity for her medical team.
Also, don’t forget—this Saturday night we’ll be having a
Bunco Game Night up at the church! Bring a snack dish to share
and come ready to have some fun and fellowship together.
It’s going to be a great time!
Have a blessed week, church family—keep walking in the Spirit and
living out the mission God has called us to.

It’s On My Heart . . .
FRONTRUNNER’S CLASS . . . We’ve started a new
study in the Book of Ephesians! All adults are
always welcome and wanted in this class! 😊
SUMMIT SINGERS . . . If you enjoy singing . .
consider joining choir on Sunday morning! We
have two rehearsals on Sunday . . 9:15 AM and
5:15 PM. We Want YOU!!
SUMMIT SOUNDZ BAND . . . . We have a scheduled
Sunday rehearsal . . . THIS Sunday, October 12th
from 2:00 – 3:30 PM.
CHRISTMAS CHOIR . . . We have started rehearsing
Christmas music for December! YOU are invited
to sing with us even if it’s just for presenting the
Christmas music! Plan to attend rehearsal on
Sundays at 5:15 PM.
The Thanksgiving Servicewill be Sunday, November
16 at 6:00 PM. Make plans now to be with
us for this special evening of grateful worship.

From the Finance Committee:
October is designated as Pastor Appreciation month.
Summit Baptist Church has always been blessed with
the men and their families that we needed and He worked
through. This has been so evident this past year.
Rather than wait until the end of October, we would rather
see our appreciation be shown monetarily toward the beginning
rather than the end of the month of October. Please give any offering
during September toward this gift directly to David Smoke or by envelope
designated as such. And, be thankful and show it.
